Bio-Jungpflanzen increases capacity eightfold to 3,200 crates per day

What started as a search for additional capacity evolved into a futureproof solution where hygiene, labor savings and sustainability come together.

From manual washing to 3,200 crates per day

“It is important for us, as we are a service company for other customers, to deliver high quality and to spread as few diseases as possible through our company,” says Beat Jud, Managing Director. Quality and preventing the spread of diseases are therefore central.

Until recently, all crates were washed by hand. This meant 800 crates per day with six employees.

However, an increase in strawberry production led to a staff shortage, making it impossible to clean all crates in time. The manual capacity was simply no longer sufficient.

The customer started looking for a washing machine and found Limex and Flier Systems. The result: 400 clean crates per hour and 3,200 per day with only three employees. “For us, this is an enormous relief and a major saving in labor.”

A fourfold increase in capacity with half the staff. Not just an efficiency improvement, but a structural solution for growth.

A line that perfectly matches the need

The customer had already looked at several machines from other suppliers but was not satisfied with the washing result. “We looked at many machines together, but each time we felt the result was not good enough. We even achieved better results by washing manually.”

This is an important starting point: if a machine does not deliver at least the same result as manual washing, it is not an improvement.
